Ready to cycle the open roads of BruceGreySimcoe? Just a reminder to "Plan Ahead, Book Ahead". If planning to stay overnight, take a few minutes to book your accommodation ahead of time. It’s a good idea to check ahead to see if meal reservations are required and for restaurant hours. Enjoy a meal outdoors and pick up goodies for a picnic along your cycling route.
Road cyclists love cycling BruceGreySimcoe – and with good reason! Spectacular scenery, quiet country roads with low traffic, access to services, repair stations and starting points with parking, washrooms and water (note that some of these amenities may be have been impacted by the pandemic) add up to a very attractive cycling destination. With certified Ontario By Bike businesses, restaurants and accommodation in Bruce County-Southwest, Grey and Simcoe Counties and a healthy Share the Road program in Grey, it’s no wonder cyclists love it here.
Racing cyclists are loving the area too and there are plenty of events to challenge all levels of cycling skill.

BruceGreySimcoe’s country roads make amazing road cycle routes. They’re quiet, well surfaced, and jam-packed with diversity. And they’re cycle-friendly, too. Four of our communities have achieved Bicycle Friendly Community status by the Share the Road Cycling Coalition – The Blue Mountains and Collingwood have been awarded silver, while Wasaga Beach and Saugeen Shores have achieved the Bronze level. Barrie, Midland and Orillia have all received Honourable Mentions.
Tour the waterfront by bike on the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail, which runs through a good part of Ontario, including Bruce and Grey counties and a small part of Simcoe County (trail is still under development here).
Whether you’re riding through the scenic Beaver Valley, along Lake Huron and Georgian Bay or through the rolling hills of Simcoe County, there are always new roads to explore.
