This is the world’s largest butter tart festival with 150,000 butter tarts of all sizes and flavours (but just one shape), being held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 9:00am until 5:00pm in downtown Midland.

The vendor marketplace will have more butter tart bakers than ever before, as well as vendors and artisans selling jewelry, unique home and garden decor, clothing and fashion accessories, soaps, candles, pet accessories and so much more. Support our local community groups and check out our kids’ activities!
We'll have food trucks on site serving up tasty food, and all of the restaurants downtown will be open, too. Sample delicious Barnstormer brews in our beer garden near the stage. Grab a seat and a taste of BBQ while enjoying some fun live music.
Our 5th annual butter tart contest will crown Ontario’s Best Butter Tart. (Applications are still open for amateur and professional bakers wanting to compete in the All-Ontario flavour divisions). Come to the Midland Cultural Centre to watch the live judging, grab a seat and a wee sample of the tarts our judges are tasting. Winners announced at 3:30pm!
Dance off that sugar rush at our free concert stage with bands playing live music all day. You’ll also find buskers along the street contorting, cavorting and carolling for your entertainment.
The Butter Tart Trot is a run like no other! Water stations and butter tart stations. Get off your butt-r-tart and try this one out. It’s a hoot! 1km kids run, 5k, 10k and a new for 2017 a half marathon course!
Parking is free anywhere in town. Admission to the festival is free. Entertainment is free. The contest inside the Midland Cultural Centre is free to watch too. Join us for the sweetest day of the year!
