Snowshoeing Across Suspension Bridge at The Scenic Caves

When: Daily from 9 to 5 p.m. Last trail passes sold at 2:30 p.m. each day

Did you know you can snowshoe across a 420-foot suspension bridge with amazing views of Georgian Bay? Thanks to Scenic Caves Nature Adventures, you can add this epic adventure to your winter bucket list. On a clear day, you can see for 10,000 square kilometres—all the way across Georgian Bay. Festivals and Events

Blumination Dream Trail

When: November 30 to March 28, 2020. Daily from dusk to 10 p.m.

In its second year at Blue Mountain Village, the award-winning Blumination Dream Trail is back for 2020. Every evening from dusk until 10 p.m. stroll through the interactive light displays, snap some great family photos and enjoy choreographed musical light shows on the hour. Start your journey at the Visitor’s Information Centre and pick up a map that guides you through the light trail.

Wiarton Willie Groundhog Day

When: February 1st and 2nd, 2020

Get up close and personal with our prognosticating rodent—Wiarton Willie at the Annual Wiarton Willie Festival. Bundle up and head to the Wiarton waterfront for 7 a.m. fireworks followed by Willie’s official prediction at 8:07 a.m. Swing by Bluewater Park for a photo with the Wiarton Willie statue too.

Winterfest, Barrie

When: February 1 and 2, 2020

Barrie’s stunning waterfront is transformed into a winter wonderland for 2 days each February for this award-winning festival. Barrie Winterfest features family fun done right, from ice and snow sculptures to horse drawn wagon rides, lumberjack shows, ice skating and presentations by the Barrie Native Friendship Centre, there’s something for everyone.

Rainbow Ski Weekend at Blue, Village at Blue Mountain
