March Break is fast-approaching and we know you’ll be looking for things to do with the family during this one week reprieve from school. We’ve put together a handy list of hotspots for the March Break across the BruceGreySimcoe region. Take a look and follow the links to get all the details on these family-friendly activities.

Blue Mountain Resort and Blue Mountain Village

Blue Mountain Resort is an obvious March Break destination with great skiing and snowboarding as well as their off-piste offerings like The Ridge Runner, Plunge Aquatic Centre and Hike and Tube. If you add the long list of special events scheduled for The Blue Mountain Village, heading to this popular resort is a no-brainer for the break. The Village lineup includes astronomy shows, magic shows, birds of prey shows, concerts, fireworks and groove dancing. Click here for the full schedule.
Fern Resort

Family owned and operated since the 1880s, Fern Resort knows how to do family fun! This all-inclusive resort is well-known as a summer destination but has some great winter offerings awaiting your crew next week. Winter attractions include a 1.5km skating trail, snowshoeing, curling on the lake, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, broom ball, open air crokicurl, outdoor hockey and an indoor pool and fitness centre. Grey Roots Museum and Archives
This eclectic museum just outside Owen Sound is offering a full-slate of programming in addition to their sold-out March Break kids camp. The theme for this year is Game On and there’s a different line-up of game related activities each day. Check out the full schedule right here.
Simcoe County Museum
In addition to their regular exhibits, The Simcoe County Museum has a skate trail on site. For the March Break the ROM’s inflatable STARLAB planetarium lets you see the stars and explore the wonders of space. Find out more here.
Bruce County Museum
Located in Southampton, the Bruce County Museum hosts Family Fun Days in addition to their regular exhibits.
Horseshoe Resort

Just outside the city of Barrie, Horseshoe Resort offers great skiing and snowboarding as well as a massive snow tubing hill. They are offering March Break accommodation specials as well as a fun lineup of entertainment throughout the break from moonlight snowshoes to family movie nights and more. Snow Valley
Located just outside Barrie, Snow Valley offers skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing. They are hosting a Spring Fling event on Saturday, March 16th with pizza box races, a dual slalom and a staff tug of war.  They are also offering a $99 pass good for unlimited skiing and snowboarding from March 1 until the end of the season.
Mount St. Louis Moonstone
Located near Coldwater in Simcoe County, Mount St. Louis Moonstone offers great skiing and snowboarding. During March Break, they are offering $42 discounted youth tickets so families can hit the slopes together. 
Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

This amazing facility located just up the road from Blue Mountain has an awesome slate of winter activities and some special events planned for March Break. Snowshoe the 420-foot suspension bridge, take a guided night snowshoe (reservations required) or hit the cross-country trails. During the break, trail passes are free for those 7 and under. Roast smores and hot dogs over the fire and complete the scavenger hunt among the wooden sculptures.
Wasaga Beach Adventure Park  
You can take your restless kids to Wasaga Beach Adventure Park to play some paintball , try axe throwing (13 and older) or conquer their Escape Rooms. There’s a Frosty’s Revenge paintball battle set for Saturday, March 16th.
Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

From cross-country skiing and snowshoeing to birds of prey, sugar shack demos and bannock roasting, there’s something for the whole family at Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. Click here for a full schedule of March Break fun.
MacGregor Point Provincial Park

A great spot for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and winter camping (yurts or winter sites), MacGregor Point Provincial Park has added March Break programs to their already awesome winter offerings. Meet a naturalist, take a guided hike or watch the live animal show. Find the full schedule here.
Tap into Maple
Ontario’s Lake Country hosts Tap into Maple from March 1 until April 30th. This self-driving tour of the area’s sugar bushes and maple-inspired business has some special March Break offerings. Shaw’s Sugar Bush hosts Sweet March Break Fun daily from March 9 to March 17th.

Discovery Harbour
This well-known summer destination is also home to a skate trail, a tube hill and a host of winter activities each weekend from crokicurl to live outdoor entertainment and ghost stories. Find out more on their Facebook page right here.
