This free event is taking place on a large estate just outside of Collingwood on Grey Road 19 where it meets the Niagara Escarpment. We want a big crowd, so we’re pulling out all the stops!

Hike along a forested creek loop trail to watch the salmon, and stop to speak with conservation experts about these Great Lakes giants and watch demonstrations. Some organizations attending include: Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Trout Unlimited, Ontario Streams and our local anglers groups. If you are interested in a sumptuous fish themed lunch catered by Men with Knives for $15, please purchase and print your ticket in advance. Free hot dogs and veggies are available for kids under 12  and we will also have Collingwood Brewery libations, displays and vendors on site.

Kids are in for a treat!
We have the kids covered, too! Our partner organizations, Elephant Thoughts educators and the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority will be bringing fun educational activities for kids, like an interactive watershed game and Zoo Guts: a huge salmon and a giant leatherback turtle that can fit teams of 10 to 15 children at a time to assemble their organs. Children have to bounce their way into the Gut Hut to find the correct organ, then place it correctly. We will also have body zorbs (get in and roll around!), arts, crafts, and much more!

The Silver Creek Stewardship Inittiative
The See the Salmon Run is part of the Blue Mountain Watershed Trust Silver Creek Stewardship Initiative (watershedtrust.ca), a year-long project to raise awareness about Silver Creek and to preserve and protect it for future generations. The project was made possible thanks to generous grants from Kolapore Springs Fish Hatchery, TD Friends of the Environment and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Hope to see you there!!
