Trails & Paddling

Outdoor adventure definitely falls into the plan ahead, book ahead category this summer! Before heading out to hike or paddle, take a few moments to research your planned destination and book ahead wherever possible to avoid disappointment – this is especially important for the Grotto in Bruce Peninsula National Park where reserving your parking time slot ahead of time is required from April 30 to October 31 and at Halfway Log Dump from June 17 to September 5.

Planning to hike a section of the Bruce Trail? The website’s "Bruce Trail 101" page has everything you need to know about hiking the iconic trail and tips for hiking responsibly and safely. Touch base with one of the four Bruce Trail Clubs in BruceGreySimcoe for the latest on what’s happening locally. Download the Bruce Trail App and have trail info available right at your fingertips. Install the “what3words” app on your phone if hiking is in your plans – the app can help rescue workers find you if you are lost or need emergency services.

Paddling shorelines, meandering rivers, small lakes and bays by canoe, kayak or on a SUP make awesome summer memories.  Sea kayaking on magnificent Georgian Bay may be just the experience your soul is craving. The “what3words” app can come in handy for emergencies on the water, too.
