Museums
BruceGreySimcoe is rich with history and each county has its own regional museum to showcase those stories. In Bruce County, the
Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre
located in Southampton has family-friendly and interactive exhibits to keep your kids entertained and educated. In Grey County,
Grey Roots Museum and Archives
near Owen Sound has great indoor exhibits and fun programming for all ages. In Simcoe County,
The Simcoe County Museum
has rich exhibits indoors and outdoors including historic outbuildings and farm machinery. Be sure to check ahead for each museum’s winter operating hours.
In addition, several key historic sites are located in Simcoe County including Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, which a
nnually celebrates the arrival of winter with its sparkling and magical
First Light
event held in late November/early December, then closes for the winter.
Several smaller museums dot the region as well. Local
information centres
can help you find those open during the winter season.
