Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games

The festival is a three-day event celebrating the Scottish heritage of our area. Many of the people who settled in this area in the 1800's came from Scotland, and the festival is planned and organised by over 400 local volunteers, many of whom are descendants of these settlers. However, everyone is a Scot on Festival weekend: if you aren't one by heritage, you are invited to join Clan Kincardine! The festival demonstrates many facets of Scottish traditional music, Celtic artisan demonstrations and product (including the presence of several Clans' booths to explain tartans, genealogy, traditions, history etc...) and food vendors to entice the unfamiliar visitor with traditional Scottish hearty food and treats. We showcase live Celtic entertainment throughout the three days, featuring both local and non-local artists, which give our local performers higher visibility and the opportunity to share the stage with better known Canadian and international artists.
