Come join us on the farm for a workshop with our unique Icelandic sheep! Join us for a weekend of fun, learning, creating and dyeing! This is a 2-day workshop. Saturday we'll explore the farm foraging for dye materials like buckthorn, goldenrod or jewelweed and others. Then we'll create our dyes, build our dye baths and get them cooking for Sunday. We'll also prep our fibre for dyeing. Sunday we'll get to dying using the natural materials that we collected as well as some other natural dyes like madder and logwood. Participants will dye and take home a variety of mini-skeins of yarn, including several colours of our Icelandic lopi. The workshop includes all materials, instruction, light refreshments and a tour to meet the makers behind our Icelandic wool! There will be plenty of time to get up close and personal with our flock and to take lots of pics. You will also meet our livestock guardian donkey Shasta!
