Trails

Planning to head to BruceGreySimcoe with your bike for the 2021 season? Plan ahead, book ahead to make sure trails are open and, if planning to stay overnight, to reserve your accommodation ahead of time.  It’s a good idea to make meal reservations where possible or make a picnic of it with a take-out meal from one of our local eateries.

Due to COVID-19, new protocols are in place across the region and many operators have changed how they do business, including reduced hours and services.

If cruising leisurely is your cycling style, you’ll find hundreds of kilometres of trails in BruceGreySimcoe to explore and discover.  Rail trails, former railway routes, make up a big part of these community trail systems and are now wide, tree-lined gravel paths both traffic-free and family-friendly.  In some cases, the trails still link together communities, just like they did back in the days of railroad travel.  These and other cycling corridors throughout BruceGreySimcoe vary in surfaces - gravel, stone dust and hard-packed surfaces pass through both urban and rural landscapes. They are a great route to tour with friends and family in a safe, stress-free, bicycle-friendly environment.

Extend your cycling fun and stay overnight.  Cycling packages can be booked with Cycle and Stay – South Georgian Bay.  Ontario By Bike has conveniently listed cycling routes for Bruce County-SouthwestGrey and Simcoe Counties and also has info on certified bicycle-friendly shops, restaurants and accommodations.
