Nordic Skiing & Snowshoeing

Always breathtaking, BruceGreySimcoe has the trails, groomed and ungroomed, to match your ski style and your skill level.  Due to the growing popularity of snowshoeing, most of the operators across the region have snowshoe trails, too.  If you’re new to either sport and just trying it out, equipment rentals and lessons are available either on-site or at local outfitters.

Where to Ski and Snowshoe

Hardwood Ski and Bike’s trails are groomed for both classic and skate skiing, with trails for beginner to advanced skiers.  Highlands Nordic is located on the Niagara Escarpment with views of Georgian Bay and 25 kilometres of groomed trails.  Horseshoe Resort has 45 kilometres of groomed trails for all ages and skill levels with both classic and skating trails.  Scenic Caves Nordic Centre has both cross-country and snowshoe trails and you can snowshoe across a 420-foot suspension bridge with its sweeping vista of Georgian Bay. The Wasaga Nordic & Trail Centre has groomed trails for both classic and racing skiers, plus snowshoe trails. The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre’s trails pass through nature at its best, with the snowshoe trail route travelling along interpretive trails and the boardwalk through the marsh. MacGregor Point Provincial Park has both groomed and ungroomed cross-country ski trails throughout the park as well as ungroomed snowshoe trails.
