Dec 20, 2019
Winter is officially upon us: Colder temperatures, crisp white snow and endless outdoor activities. But what if you’re not a winter lover? What if while your family are waxing their snowboards, you’re secretly wishing you could wrap up in a quilt with a tall mug of tea? Don’t worry—whether you’re smiling about winter or buckling down and wondering how to survive—there’s an adventure waiting for you in BruceGreySimcoe. We put together this handy blog packed with local experiences for the reluctant winter lovers in your crew.

Holiday Magic at Blue Mountain Village

The Village at Blue comes alive with holiday sights and sounds. Walking the 1-kilometre trail of amazing festive light displays is a great winter activity that will have you snapping selfies and enjoying winter before you know it. Short but sweet, you can reward yourself with a hot chocolate and a treat at Royal Majesty right after or head to one of the Blue Mountain Village’s many aprés spots for a beverage and an appetizer. The village is a great place to fall in love with winter. Find out more.

Work on your golf game … inside

If you’ve been silently sobbing since the greens closed down, BruceGreySimcoe has some great indoor opportunities for you. Both Cobble Beach and Whispering Hills Golf Club in Hanover have golf simulators you can use hourly, with or without instruction.  The Golf Club in Collingwood is another great destination for golfers in the winter and on rainy days. With a putting green inside and several simulators, you can even grab a drink between rounds. Find out more about this new business.

Sip cider in an igloo—it’s warmer than it sounds

This is an outdoor experience with indoor qualities. Thornbury Village Cider has installed two clear plastic igloos on their patio. Stop in for a flight of cider, wine or beer and enjoy it on the patio inside this unique enclosure. Snap some pics and be sure to tag @brucegreysimcoe in your adventure.
